A Dynamic Approach to Halal Investing
There’s no “mystery” or “magic” formula to Halal Investing. In Canada and the US, there are many mutual funds and ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) that specialize in Sharia-Compliant investing. So, there’s a wide variety of good options from which to choose.

However, a Shariah-compliant portfolio, like any portfolio, should reflect your personal goals, investment objectives and tolerance for risk. For that reason, I do not offer my client’s “cookie-cutter” portfolios. But rather, portfolios that not only reflect your goals and objectives, but also market conditions.
To that end, the “What” to buy is not an issue and can be easily addressed as we work through your Life by Design Plan. The key to successful investing (Halal or otherwise), a sentiment shared by professional traders, is in identifying “When” to buy. And by extension, when to sell and when NOT to buy. This is where my Flex Investment Strategy, using Technical Analysis tools, comes into play.
You might be saving for a new home or to go on Hajj. Or for retirement travel or your children’s education. No matter what the goals or objectives, I will, in consultation with you, identify suitable options for your portfolio. Then invest according to my Technical Analysis Indicators and current market conditions.

So, we start by creating a vision of what is possible. Where you gain more clarity in your life. And where we create a simple, but effective, plan that will guide you along the way. I will help you find the balance so that you can rest easy. While ensuring that you have a portfolio that complies with your ethical and moral values.

My Story
You might have read About Me on my Home Page. About my experiences and challenges as an immigrant to Canada. You might also have read about my Mum’s influence on me under Why Women in my Dynamic Wealth Program for Women. But there’s a bit more.
It may seem to be a contradiction, but growing up in South Africa as a Muslim, was fairly easy. The Apartheid Government's policy of restricting where different racial groups lived, meant that every town and city had very strong Muslim communities. Whether sharing food during Ramadan, madrassa after school or meeting friends and family at Jummah, Islam was an integral part of daily life. Which I’m sure you can relate to.
Immigrating to Canada in 1969 exposed our family to a very different culture, one with very few Muslims at the time. And very little access to services and things that we had taken for granted. Like a Mosque. Or Halal food. But my parents, along with a handful of other Muslim families, threw themselves into changing that reality. We fundraised endlessly (I can’t begin to tell you the number of phone books we delivered, the number of bake sales….) to buy the property where the Ottawa Mosque stands today.
For the first time, I saw my parents struggle to make ends meet. It made me realize, at a young age that successful planning and investing can provide a sense of peace, security and dignity. This inspired me to enter the financial services industry and help people just like my parents feel confident and secure in their financial situation.
These experiences, and the sense of community it developed, motivated me to apply my skills and investing philosophy to helping my community. Whether you become a client or not, I invite you to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns about your investment portfolios or just want a second opinion. I am always willing to chat.
